Reflexology
The aches, the pains, the stiffness we feel throughout our bodies
are the many ways the body remind us of its need for some TLC.
The feet, are primary indicators of our state of balance. We spend
hours of our waking day on our feet, often feeling the discomfort
this creates. But did you know that the very pain you feel could
be telling you much more about your health in general and that
the very means to help correct this is right beneath you - in
your feet!
The feet are a reflection of our whole body and a means to correct
and address imbalances in the body is performed through the practice
of reflexology. Reflexology is based on the premise that our organs
have corresponding reflex points on other parts of the body, one
of these points being the feet (others being the eyes, hands and
tongue).
When a reflex point is stimulated, it works to balance
and normalise not just the corresponding organ itself but also
all functional relationships of that organ. This can bring 'holistic'
healing throughout the whole body and help it move to position
where it can more readily heal itself.
The applied massage/pressure technique helps the body maintain
health, balance and equilibrium.
The acknowledged theory of is that the body is divided into
ten longitudinal zones running the entire length of the body.
The feet and hands have zones divided in the same way and energy
(or 'CHI' as it is known by the Chinese) is constantly
flowing through these zones. Both the hands and the feet posses
reflex points which correspond to each structure in the body.
When the energy flow becomes blocked by congestion, disorder and
even disease can occur.
Reflexology treatment aims to enhance the flow of energy, encouraging
the body to heal itself and for the body systems to work again
in unison.
Reflexology treatment also aims to restore good circulation of
blood, lymph and energy, encouraging all systems to return to
a state of balance and harmony.
Reflexology can provide a very fast relief from common complaints
such as headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, digestive disorders,
menstrual problems, etc. whilst helping to address any underlying
issues.
In my practice, if desired by the client, reflexology sessions
end with a brief Reiki~Seichim healing as part of the treatment.
In a reflexology or reiki~seichim consultation,I make a brief
iris check to determine the client's overall state of health and
to create a treatment session unique to each individual person.
